Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Plumbing and Firefighting systems to support the delivery of high-quality building services designs across multidisciplinary projects. This role contributes to developing efficient, compliant, and sustainable mechanical solutions while collaborating closely with project teams and clients to achieve project objectives and design excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering Delivery

  • Develop plumbing and firefighting system designs including domestic water supply, drainage, stormwater, and fire protection systems.
  • Perform piping sizing calculations, system layout planning, and technical coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure engineering solutions align with project requirements, performance standards, and sustainability objectives.

Technical Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with international standards and local regulations.
  • Apply relevant codes and standards including ASPE, NFPA, NPC, and applicable local authority requirements.
  • Develop and maintain BIM models using Revit to support coordinated project delivery.

Coordination & Client Engagement

  • Participate in client meetings and technical discussions, clearly communicating design intent and engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, junior engineers, and discipline leads to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Support resolution of technical challenges and maintain alignment with project expectations.

Innovation & Problem Solving

  • Identify design risks and propose practical, innovative engineering solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements and integrate new technologies to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design practices and workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Power Engineering from a reputable university.
  • 48 years of experience in mechanical building services design, with focus on plumbing and firefighting systems.
  • Proven experience in BIM-based project environments.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary consultancy projects is preferred.
