We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead, manage, and control mechanical works at construction sites, including HVAC, chilled water systems, plumbing, drainage, and fire fighting. The candidate must have strong technical authority, local regulation knowledge, and proven capability in leading MEP coordination, approvals, and site execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end execution of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, and fire fighting works.
- Review, approve, and control shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical submissions.
- Ensure all mechanical works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, and timelines.
- Coordinate at senior level with civil, architectural, electrical, and other MEP disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure smooth integration.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and local authorities to close technical issues and approvals.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover of mechanical systems.
- Ensure full compliance with local authority regulations (Dubai Municipality, DCD, DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
- Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance to meet project targets.
- Identify design or site issues early and provide technical solutions and value engineering proposals.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and site safety practices.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports to project management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 810 years of experience, on large MEP construction projects.
- Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and chilled water systems.
- Thorough knowledge of UAE authority approval processes (DCD, DM, DEWA, etc.).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant mechanical codes and standards.
- Proven leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills to handle consultants, clients, and senior management.
- Immediate availability is preferred.
