Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering consultancy team in Qatar. The ideal candidate will take a leading role in overseeing mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting engineering designs, managing authority approvals, and supervising project execution across various high-profile developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the review, design verification, and value engineering of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Firefighting systems in compliance with local regulations and international standards.
• Act as the technical authority for mechanical engineering, interfacing directly with clients, authorities (Civil Defence, Kahramaa, Ashghal, etc.), and project stakeholders.
• Manage and secure all necessary authority approvals for ongoing and upcoming project submissions.
• Provide technical direction and site oversight to ensure construction aligned with approved designs and quality specifications.
• Mentor junior and mid-level mechanical engineers within the department.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Mandatory: Valid MMUP / UPDA Grade A Certification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 to 12+ years of progressive engineering experience, with a strong background in engineering consultancy within Qatar.
• Comprehensive knowledge of QCS, Kahramaa, Civil Defence (QCDD) regulations, and international engineering codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC).
• Must be currently based in Qatar with a transferable visa/NOC (available for immediate or short-notice sponsorship transfer).

• High proficiency in technical reporting, authority liaison, and site troubleshooting.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
