The Senior Mechanical Site Supervision Engineer is responsible for overseeing the execution, quality, and code compliance of Mechanical works on site, ensuring alignment with approved designs, Saudi Building Code requirements, and authority-approved permit information. The role actively supports the AOR team by reviewing Mechanical deliverables, resolving authority comments, and coordinating with permitting bodies and utility authorities to secure timely approvals. This position acts as a key technical lead on site, driving effective coordination with contractors and multidisciplinary teams, safeguarding design intent, and supporting the successful delivery of the project through to completion.
The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Site Supervision & Construction
Lead Mechanical site supervision activities and ensure that construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, SBC requirements, and authority-approved permit information.
Conduct regular inspections, testing, and commissioning reviews for all Mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting).
Review and respond to submittals including shop drawings, RFIs, and material approvals.
Monitor contractor performance, identify deviations, and enforce corrective actions to maintain design intent, safety, and system performance.
Attend site coordination and progress meetings, reporting Mechanical issues and recommending effective resolutions.
Ensure timely documentation of all supervision activities and Mechanical compliance findings.
Establish internal standards, QA/QC processes, and best practices for AOR Mechanical coordination and documentation.
Ensure that all internal DSA QA/QC standards are fully complied with prior to any information issue, whether internal or external.
AOR & Authority Coordination Support
Support the AOR team by reviewing Mechanical Design deliverables to ensure accuracy, coordination, and code compliance before authority submissions.
Verify that Mechanical systems meet local and international standards (SBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, ASTM, etc.).
Assist the AOR with assessing and coordinating Mechanical deliverables throughout all project stages.
Provide technical input during design review cycles to reduce authority comments and permit delays.
Help maintain compliance with internal QA/QC standards prior to issuing any Mechanical documentation
Interdisciplinary Coordination
Work collaboratively with Architecture, Electrical, Structural, and Fire Life Safety teams to resolve site interface issues.
Review Mechanical models and inputs within BIM and multidisciplinary coordination platforms.
Represent Mechanical supervision interests during technical workshops and client meetings when required.
Leadership & Team Collaboration
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior site engineers and inspectors.
Coordinate with the Site operations Manager and Site supervision Director on resource planning and allocation for Mechanical supervision.
Contribute to personnel assessments, technical evaluations, and interviews for Mechanical supervision staff
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare and contribute to periodic site supervision reports covering Mechanical scope progress, compliance, and risks.
Support AOR reporting requirements including performance updates and documentation submissions.
Ensure accurate record-keeping for all Mechanical supervision deliverables in alignment with project controls requirements
Communications
Internal Directors, Architecture and Landscape teams, and where necessary internal administration departments including Finance and HR
External Clients, Consultants, Sub-Consultants, Contractors, and Suppliers
All the above may be national and/or international
Decision Making Authority
Make technical decisions on Mechanical site matters that ensure compliance with codes, safety regulations, and approved documents.
Escalate major technical, coordination, or resource issues to the AOR leadership for resolution.
Qualification & Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience in Mechanical engineering of buildings.
Hands-on understanding of Mechanical testing, commissioning, and handover procedures.
Ability to interpret and enforce approved IFC/permit drawings against site conditions.
Experience dealing directly with contractors to resolve technical issues without delay.
Practical knowledge of QA/QC procedures and non-conformance management.
Current SCE membership and classified at Professional or higher level.
Experience with Saudi Building Code and direct negotiation with Authorities.
Knowledge of all regulations, codes, and requirements from Amanah and Balady.
Experience in working within or alongside AOR teams.
Strong familiarity with construction sequencing and coordination for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical infrastructure systems.
Extensive experience on hospitality, high-rise, and complex mixed-use projects.
Familiarity with Revit and BIM coordination tools.
Strong knowledge of international and local KSA Mechanical regulations.
Remain constantly updated on latest codes, standards, and technologies in Mechanical engineering and AOR compliance.
Experience in site supervision and Mechanical resolution during construction.
Site supervision experience for civil, electrical, and infrastructure works is an advantage.
Experience on 4* and 5* hotels is an advantage.
Must have Middle East experience.
Must be English and Arabic speaker
