Senior Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview

Seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 6+ years of UAE experience to lead HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection delivery for Resturants & F&B fit-out projects. You will manage the mechanical scope from technical review and authority approvals through to on-site execution, testing, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Authority Approvals

• Review and validate mechanical shop drawings, heat loads, and MEP submittals for F&B projects.
• Design and verify commercial kitchen ventilation, grease hoods, ecology units, and makeup air systems.
• Manage mechanical submissions and approvals with local authorities (DM, DDA, Civil Defence) and master developers (Emaar, Nakheel, MAF).

Site Execution & Project Coordination

• Coordinate with Interior Designers, Project Managers, and MEP subcontractors to resolve technical clashes.
• Oversee site installations for HVAC, water supply, LPG routing, and kitchen drainage (grease traps).
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings, safety, and QA/QC standards.

Commissioning & Handover

• Lead testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) for HVAC and kitchen extract systems.
• Oversee final testing and commissioning of all mechanical, gas, and fire suppression systems (Ansul).
• Deliver final As-Built drawings, O&M manuals, and authority close-outs.

Key Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in UAE MEP fit-outs, specifically delivering restaurants and F&B projects.
• Expert knowledge of kitchen extraction, ecology units, grease interceptors, and local authority codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, DM, DDA).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM).
• UAE Society of Engineers membership (Municipality/Civil Defence approval preferred).
