Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Operations Manager to l ead our Asset Lifecycle Optimisation (ALO) business unit across the E urope Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

ALO is part of our Consulting division under Digital consulting. The Senior Manager will drive the business forward and be part of the leadership team responsible for growing our service offerings , supporting clients across the Energy Security and Energy Transition end markets.

This role can be based in any of our UK offices on a h ybrid basis with the expectation of regular travel across the region.

The Role

The Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for a team of 220 with 4 direct senior reports across the EMEA region made up of a variety of specialist engineers, consultants and support functions. They provide integrity management and specialist services to our clients .

As the Senior Manager you will have full P&L responsibility and direct the growth and vision of A LO across the region. Demonstrating core leadership values, you wil l guide and drive the team forward and deliver against the agreed strategy and business plan.

You will be the external face of A LO for EMEA , nurtur ing and develop ing new and existing relationships with clients. Being a visible role model both internally and externally.

Key Objectives

  • Direct and guide the growth, development and delivery performance across the EMEA region for Asset Lifecycle Optimisation business unit , supporting the development of strategy and delivering related business plans.
  • Accountable for safety, technical and financial performance across EMEA , assuming budgetary and P&L responsibility and demonstrating clear safety leadership achieving monthly and annual targets and embedding company values.
  • Provide guidance and direction to management and support teams in the day to day management of delivery, ensuring appropriate controls and governance are in place and ensuring Wood is working to the highest possible standards of integrity, safety, quality and operational excellence.
  • Produce solutions to complex strategic, contractual, technical, commercial, operational and personnel related challenges which impact on customer service and performance.
  • Manages ongoing ALO business, responsible for budget setting and delivery, contracts, capacity , resource management, and capability management.

We support our clients across conventional energy to ensure Energy Security and play a key role in decarbonising assets. We also work closely with client across the Energy Transition sector supporting projects across Hydrogen transportation and production, and Carbon Capture , Storage and Utilisation (CCUS ) .

Expected:

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field OR degree qualified in a commercial/business discipline with significant experience in a technical organisation
  • Recognised and accredited management qualification - preferred but significant experience will be taken into consideration
  • Extensive track record of successful operational and strategic delivery within service offering relatable to A sset Lifecycle Optimisation
  • Broad and deep understanding of the Energy industry and strong networking and relationship building capability
  • Knowledge of current HSSEA and other legislation as applicable in the industry
  • Proven leadership skills - ability to motivat e people, proactively enabling cross functional best practice
  • Ability to lead change programmes
  • The ability to influence and challenge others to behave in ways consistent with the interest of the organisation
  • Strong Business awareness and commercial acumen to contribute to the competitive advantage of the business
  • Decisive, with ability to make decisions and follow through, ensuring learnings are captured
  • Pragmatic in approach with a strong commercial bias and ability to balance commerciality with operational excellence
