General Description
This role is a senior PPS (Pipeline & Process Services) engineer responsible for engineering and planning pipeline pre-commissioning/commissioning-support campaigns end-to-enddefining execution strategy with the PM, producing/reviewing method statements, ITPs, calculations and procedures, sizing/confirming equipment and manpower, supporting procurement with technical clarifications, and providing technical support during execution by troubleshooting and optimizing operating parameters (flow/pressure/pig speed) while ensuring compliance with COMPANY requirements; the role also owns data integrity and reporting (logs, test records, calibration tracking, dew point/purity, hydrotest charts and final dossier inputs) and supports risk assessments/HAZID/HAZOP reviews for critical scopes, typically requiring 7+ years pipeline/process services experience and proven capability to engineer cleaning/gauging, hydrotest/dewatering, drying/purging and temporary facilities from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering deliverables for PPS related campaigns and support the PM in defining execution strategy.
- Produce / review method statements, ITPs, calculations, and project-specific procedures for each step of PPS activities
- Define equipment and manpower requirements per campaign; validate readiness and support procurement with technical clarifications.
- Support Operations during execution: troubleshoot site issues, optimize parameters (flow/pressure/pig speed), and ensure compliance with the approved methodology.
- Ensure data integrity and reporting: daily logs, test records, calibration tracking, dew point/purity records, hydrotest charts, and final dossier inputs.
- Support risk assessment and HAZID/HAZOP-style reviews where required, especially for high elevation / high pressure / critical interfaces.
Qualification Requirements
- 7+ years experience in pipeline and process services (pre-commissioning / commissioning support).
- 3+ years dedicated experience in engineering / planning of pipeline pre-commissioning projects with demonstrable track record (engineered packages executed on site).
- Ability to engineer pipeline pre-commissioning scope from scratch, including:
- cleaning & gauging philosophy (pig selection, pig train design, acceptance criteria)
- water filling / hydrotest / dewatering engineering (hydraulics, pump/compressor sizing, pressure loss, pig speed control)
- drying and nitrogen purging/preservation philosophy (dew point targets, membrane/compressor/dryer configuration, nitrogen purity control)
- temporary facilities and site layouts (test headers/PLRs, vent/drain philosophy, injection/discharge arrangements, hose/piping sizing)
- Strong understanding of applicable pipeline standards and COMPANY procedures, and ability to translate them into practical site methodologies.
- Strong reporting/documentation skills and ability to communicate clearly with Ops, client, and subcontractors.
- Fluent English (Arabic is an advantage).
