Job Summary:
The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects within budget. The role involves coordinating with project teams, analyzing progress, and identifying potential delays to recommend corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Scheduling:
- Prepare baseline schedules using Primavera P6/MS Project.
- Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and define critical paths.
- Update schedules with progress data and forecast completion dates.
- Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and resource utilization.
- Generate weekly/monthly progress reports for stakeholders.
- Identify deviations and propose mitigation strategies.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment.
- Attend progress meetings and provide schedule-related insights.
- Risk Management:
- Analyze potential risks affecting timelines and suggest contingency plans.
- Cost & Resource Planning:
- Assist in budget preparation and manpower/resource allocation.
- Documentation:
- Maintain records of schedule updates, change orders, and delays.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil).
- Experience:Minimum 10 years in project planning/scheduling.
- Software Skills:Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel (advanced), AutoCAD (basic).
- Soft Skills:Analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication, teamwork.
- Certifications (Preferred):PMP, CAPM, or Primavera certification.
