Job Description

Senior Procurement Engineer - Civil manages sourcing, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiations for construction materials and subcontractors. Responsibilities include analyzing BOQs, driving cost optimization, and ensuring material deliveries align with project schedules. Candidates typically need a Civil Engineering degree and 7 to 10 years of regional experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Sourcing & Prequalification: Find and vet reliable suppliers and subcontractors for civil works (concrete, steel, finishes).
  • Tendering & Evaluation: Prepare RFQs, analyze technical/commercial bids, and build comparative statements.
  • Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize project costs.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, planning engineers, and site teams to avoid project delays.
  • Value Engineering: Support cost-saving initiatives and alternative material proposals without sacrificing quality.

Key Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 8-12 years of total construction procurement experience, with regional market expertise.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of civil building materials, drawings, BOQs, and local industry standards.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office (Excel) and familiarity with ERP systems or Oracle/SAP.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional commercial awareness, communication, and vendor negotiation skills
