What You'll Shape
You'll join a boutique strategic design and technology consultancy and embedded full-time, onsite at one of Saudi Arabia's leading banks in Riyadh. This is the agency's model: their people work inside client walls, not from the outside looking in. Two of their team members have been embedded at this bank for years. The client lobbied to increase their salaries at renewal. That tells you what you need to know about how this relationship works.
The bank is building something new inside its mobile banking app. The product is commercially sensitive and you'll find out the specifics once you're in the room. What's clear: it's greenfield, high-visibility, and will reach millions of users across the Kingdom.
Your mandate is to translate complex regulatory requirements, specifically SAMA's Consumer Protection Framework, into mobile experiences that are genuinely good to use. Compliance and great UX are not in conflict here. You're the person who makes sure of that.
What You'll Focus On
- Design intuitive, compliant mobile banking experiences across iOS and Android from brief to shipped feature
- Translate SAMA CPF regulations into workflows and interaction patterns that meet compliance without killing usability
- Build and maintain design systems, design documentation, and component libraries
- Run usability testing and feed findings directly back into the product
- Work closely with compliance, product, and engineering, and present your decisions to senior bank stakeholders
- Mentor junior designers on the team
Who You Are
- 6 to 7 years of UX/UI design experience, a significant portion in mobile banking or fintech
- A portfolio that shows real product impact in regulated financial services, not just beautiful screens
- Solid knowledge of SAMA CPF, UAE Central Bank CPF, DFSA, FCA, or equivalent regulatory frameworks. If you know the international standard and you're willing to get across SAMA CPF, that works
- Expert in Figma; confident across Adobe Suite, Sketch, and Abstract
- Someone who carries themselves with confidence and humility in front of senior client stakeholders
- Comfortable when the brief is incomplete. This product is new. The details will evolve. That should energise you.
Stands out if you have:
- Arabic language proficiency (spoken and/or written)
- GCC or KSA market experience
- Experience mentoring junior or mid-level designers
- Front-end technology awareness
