About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Director to lead a major city-scale stormwater masterplan in Saudi Arabia. This is a critical leadership position that will be heavily weighted during the technical evaluation of the bid.
The successful candidate will provide strategic, technical, and commercial leadership across stormwater planning, hydraulic modelling, diversion channels, and urban drainage systems, ensuring world-class delivery aligned with international best practice.
This role requires relocation to KSA.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall delivery of the stormwater masterplan program.
- Act as the primary client interface and executive focal point.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams across planning, hydraulics, and design.
- Oversee hydraulic modelling, flood mitigation, and diversion strategies.
- Provide technical assurance for complex urban drainage solutions.
- Manage programme, commercial performance, and risk.
- Drive stakeholder engagement with authorities and key partners.
- Support bid clarification and technical presentations when required.
- Mentor senior technical staff and build local capability.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi regulations and international standards.
Mandatory Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 25 years of total professional experience.
- Minimum 15 years in a Project Director or equivalent leadership role in international engineering consultancies.
- Demonstrated leadership of large-scale stormwater or urban drainage master plans in major global cities.
- Strong expertise in:
- Stormwater master planning
- Urban drainage systems
- Hydraulic and hydrological modelling
- Flood mitigation and diversion channels
- Proven client-facing leadership experience.
- Willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia.
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent chartership.
- Gulf or Saudi project experience.
- Experience with major metropolitan flood or drainage programs.
- Strong commercial and contract management exposure.
- Important for Technical Scoring
- Western education strongly preferred.
- International project exposure essential.
- Background from a Tier 1 global engineering consultancy is highly desirable.
