Senior Project Manager

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (on-site, residential)

Assignment Type: Fixed term agreement, annually renewable

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager with extensive experience to join a Project and Construction Management team in Riyadh. The role focuses on overseeing the delivery of major civil engineering and transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, and urban infrastructure works. You will be responsible for overall project delivery, supporting the site team, providing technical input, and ensuring that project objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Director in the running of the project.
  • Advise on the sufficiency of the design and information supplied and identify any outstanding or conflicting design issues.
  • Liaise with discipline managers and site team leaders to ensure effective communication on project matters.
  • Develop and implement procedures for planning, managing, supervising construction works, and controlling project costs.
  • Review and approve technical documents submitted to the client by contractors.
  • Monitor overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet agreed standards and satisfy stakeholder requirements at each stage.
  • Monitor stakeholder relationships and adjust strategies and plans for engaging stakeholders.
  • Apply change control and configuration management processes.
  • Report on project progress through highlight reports and end-stage assessments.
  • Maintain awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and their impact.
  • Contribute to the resolution of technical issues during the project lifecycle.
  • Establish, assess, and evaluate project management processes, share knowledge, identify opportunities, and provide advice to improve processes and procedures.
  • Apply analytical and project management skills as well as technical writing skills at a task level.
  • Adopt and apply appropriate technical and quality strategies and standards.
  • Identify and obtain support and advice required for the management, planning, and control of the project.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be necessary or required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, engineering management, or related field preferred; membership of a chartered institution.
  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or related certification.
  • Over 20 years of experience, with at least 15 years as a Project Manager.
  • Proven experience supervising the construction of complex projects, mainly as a consultant. Candidates with exclusive contractor experience will not be considered.
  • Experience in at least one or more road projects is required.
  • Advanced level of English; basic knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
  • Strong report writing, social, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, autonomy, flexibility, and technical rigor skills.
  • Willingness to work in a multinational environment.
  • Transferable Iqama required for non-Saudi candidates.
  • Based in Riyadh.
  • Valid SCE membership.
