We are hiring a Senior P&C Underwriter for our Kuwait branch
Summary:
The Senior P&C Underwriter implements the P&C technical framework, does operations activities in a way that match written processes. Prepares quotations as per defined underwriting authority limit within set TAT.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement properly the P&C Department Policies and Procedures and recommends changes for improvement
- Maintain proper implementation and execution of agreements made with Brokers/important clients in terms of rates, minimum premiums and renewals
- Review quotations, change requests (endorsements) and escalate any inquiry exceeding authority
- Follow-up on renewals and make sure major policies are renewed on time
- Ensure pre-cover inspections are done for matters within his/her authority
- Review Retention and Reinsurance distributions and Facultative placements needed
- Assist in preparing periodical reports to the Country Manager/Group Department Head when needed, in addition, assist in preparation of department business plan reports (strategy, HR and capital budget)
- Underwrite risks that fall within own authority
- Underwrite cases as referred by distribution channels and as directed by Team Leader / P&C Manager
- Prepare preliminary assessment of cases that fall above own authority and refer them to the Team Leader / P&C Manager with appropriate recommendations
- Prepare Offers and ensure that all documents are complete
- Prepare quotation as per defined UW authority limit and within the set TAT
- Maintain proper and updated activity records by registering all the submissions activity on SAR without exception
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years experience in P&C underwriting
- Profound Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance and similar products
- Solid knowledge in surveys and RIR
- Knowledge in underwriting of general insurance, property & marine policies
- Ability to work under pressure, and with minimum supervision.
- Proactive with can-do-attitude.
- Focus on details and errorless delivery.
