Role Overview
A Senior Backend Engineer is sought to take ownership of core platform systems and APIs that power mission-critical products, including workflow automation, document processing, AI-driven features, and third-party integrations.
This is a highly hands-on role requiring full lifecycle ownership—from architecture and development to deployment and production operations. The successful candidate will build backend services that are secure, scalable, and reliable across both cloud and on-premise environments
Minimum Requirements
- 6–10+ years of backend engineering experience, including: Significant experience with Python in production environments
- Experience building complex B2B SaaS platforms or similarly sophisticated backend systems
- Strong experience with Python web frameworks (preferably FastAPI; Flask or Django experience also acceptable).
- Proven ability to design RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services, with strong knowledge of HTTP, authentication, authorisation, pagination, and versioning.
- Solid experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), including: Schema design, Indexing and query optimisation, Data migrations and integrity
- Good understanding of asynchronous programming, background job processing, and queue systems (e.g., Celery, Redis).
- Experience implementing testing across multiple levels (unit, integration, API).
- Hands-on experience with containers and cloud-native environments (Docker, Kubernetes, major cloud providers).
- Strong awareness of security best practices (OWASP, secure secret management, least-privilege access).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps.
This is fully remote and paying between $3,000 - 4,500 per month
