- Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to establish and lead the Quality Assurance function across our fintech products. This role is both hands-on and strategic: you will design and implement QA processes, build automation frameworks, and lay the foundation for a scalable QA team.
As the first QA hire, you will play a critical role in improving product quality, reducing risk, and enabling safe and predictable releases.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end QA strategy, processes, and standards
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks (API, backend, and UI where applicable)
- Define test plans, test cases, and regression testing strategies
- Ensure quality across backend services, APIs, portals, and integrations
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to embed quality early in the SDLC
- Own release quality and production readiness criteria
- Identify quality risks and proactively raise issues
- Hire, mentor, and lead future QA team members
- Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with strong automation focus
- Proven experience building QA processes from scratch
- Strong experience in test automation for APIs and backend services
- Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST-assured, Postman, or similar)
- Experience integrating QA automation with CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and release management
- Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and build teams
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fintech, banking, or highly regulated environments
- Experience testing B2B APIs and financial transactions
- Familiarity with security testing and compliance-driven QA
- ISTQB or similar certification
