Job Summary:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the complete commercial and financial management of all assigned joinery and fit-out projects, spanning both pre-contract estimation and post-contract cost control. This role requires specialist technical knowledge in joinery production, strong contract administration skills, and the ability to manage complex variation and claims processes to ensure project profitability and timely financial closure.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Maintaining logs for variations, Instructions, RFI's, PA, PC, etc.
- Take off quantities and preparation of scope wise packages
- Preparation of Variation costing and claims
- Review and comment the draft contracts received from clients
- Sub contractor's agreement to be reviewed and modified as per the scope and in conjunction to our main contract
- Sub con billing: Cross checking at site, evaluation, certification
- Preparation of interim payment applications
- Attending meetings with main contractor, client, etc.
- Comparison of IFT & IFC drawings, report and raise variation claim for the changes if any.
- Preparation of EOT claims
- Preparation of CTC and statement of final account
- Timely alert to operation team about critical issues like, de-scope, long lead items, cashflow related issues
Must have skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of full-time Quantity Surveying experience, with a substantial portion dedicated to the Joinery sector in the UAE.
- Proven expertise in both pre-contract (estimation, tendering) and post-contract (claims, payment) stages.
- Essential Software Skills: Excellent proficiency in estimation software like PlanSwift or CostX, AutoCAD, and MS Office (especially Excel).
