DESCRIPTION
CoreX seeks a highly motivated and creative Senior Researcher to help architect and execute the biological backbone of a multiplexed high throughput in-vitro platform for AI based drug discovery. The successful candidate will perform cell-based research to enable the development of the platform and screen drug candidates. To achieve this objective, the successful candidate will interface with scientists in biosensing, automation, bioinformatics and AI, preclinical research, material sciences and fabrication and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct in-vitro experiments including cell culture maintenance, iPSC differentiation, cell model characterization, and end point assays
- Optimize and execute assays to assess gene and protein expression (e.g., qPCR, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Fluorescence Microscopy), and biological effects (e.g., function, viability, localization, enzyme activity, signaling pathway activation/inhibition) in iPSC derived cell lines and 3D organoid/spheroid cultures
- Work closely with other scientists to develop different aspects of the platform Maintain excellent electronic lab notebook records of protocols and experimental details
- Summarize findings in presentations to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings and provide regular oral and written communication on all projects and milestones to relevant project teams
- Review literature and work with colleagues to develop new methodologies and protocols
QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD. in cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related discipline with 3+ years experience (5+ years experience is a plus)
- Extensive experience working with pluripotent cells (iPSC and ESCs) and differentiation of cells into various lineages
- Extensive experience working with human cells and organoids/spheroids
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, flexible and able to contribute to several fast-paced projects concurrently
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently to analyze, interpret, and present data.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Collaborative spirit and a strong desire to work with researchers from different disciplines.
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects.
- Experience in Fluorescence Microscopy, qPCR, ELISA, Flow Cytometry and other biochemical assays
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of laboratory and leading research experience.
- Available to work on occasional weekends to maintain cells in culture
- Experience in drug toxicity assays
