Job Description

Position Summary:

  • Responsible to provide support to the Group Risk Officer Group Risk Function and local LRO, OpCo and Risk Champion(s) in managing the strategic, tactical and operational Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework for beIN MEDIA GROUP.
  • Responsible to manage and coordinate all administrative (internal / external) and general organizational tasks of the department requirements (e.g. meeting / workshop organization, document, file and data storage etc.).
  • Responsible to provide support in the ERM process and documentation and mapping of all group risk information, coordinate and facilitate regular and special projects/ investments group business risk workshops.
  • Responsible to provide support to the Group Risk Officer and LRO (FRANCE, MENA, TURKEY) and the Risk Champion(s) in the operation and management of an effective ERM framework.
  • Responsible to provide support to the Group Risk Officer Group Risk Function in developing and delivering regular risk management awareness trainings to the LRO and Risk Champion(s), special business division, and functional area, if requested, and all relevant employees.
  • Responsible to provide support to the Group Risk Officer Group Risk Function in administrating the group-wide corporate insurance programs and risk transfer and mitigation strategy for beIN MEDIA GROUP.
  • Responsible to provide support to the Group Risk Officer Group Risk Function in advisory support to the strategy & investment team on special insurance and risk related due-diligence services as required.
  • Responsible to provide support to the Group Risk Officer Group Risk Function in advisory support to the BOD / Executive Management on special ad-hoc projects and risk related services as required.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Management (support & assistance)

  • Develop, implement and manage an enterprise risk management framework (ERM) in line with the overall corporate business and risk management strategy, risk appetite & tolerance and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and manage critical strategic and operation risk exposures to improve the decision making, enhance outcomes, and strengthen the management accountability.
  • Develop appropriate risk monitoring procedures and controlling formats to institutionalize risk quantification and reporting mechanisms for the Executive Management.
  • Identify, assess and manage emerging risks and develop appropriate risk transfer solutions and risk response and mitigation concepts for the Executive Management.
  • Identify business process improvement opportunities across the organization to reduce costs and enhance the operational resilience.
  • Collaborate and follow up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to mitigate the identified risks and potential consequences.
  • Promote risk awareness culture and develop and deliver regular risk management awareness trainings to LRO(s), Risk Champion(s), special business division, and functional area, if requested, and all relevant employees across the group.

M&A Due-Diligence Advisory (support & assistance)

  • Provide independent risk assessment, advisory and due-diligence services to the strategy & investments team during potential M&A transactions.
  • Advise the BOD and audit & risk committee on potential strategic, operational and general insurance and investment risks, to support the decision-making process for all new investments and business expansion initiatives.
  • Identify potential strategic and transaction risks and areas of concern in-line with the corporate and investment strategy.
  • Ensure that all new investments are in-line with the Group's risk appetite & tolerance and projected investment returns and corporate compliance requirements.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance and/or Business management MBA (specialized in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, and Actuarial / Insurance, or Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or Political science).
  • Relevant risk management certifications (FRM, PRM, etc.) will be preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive professional experience in enterprise risk, finance, or any equivalent finance management function within an international organization.
  • Experience of working in an international corporation, insurance company, audit/ finance or management consulting and/or risk advisory firm would be essential.
