Job Summary
Supervising civil works at the project site to ensure that construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, project schedules, and quality standards. The role involves coordinating with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of construction works while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor daily civil construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure that all works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Review contractor shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals related to civil works.
- Coordinate with the Resident Engineer and other discipline engineers to resolve site technical issues.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project schedule and quality requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, materials, and construction progress.
- Review and verify contractor work progress and quantities for interim payment certificates.
- Issue site instructions, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and observation reports when required.
- Attend site meetings with contractors and project stakeholders and provide technical input.
- Ensure compliance with project safety procedures and environmental requirements.
- Review as-built drawings and ensure accuracy before submission.
- Prepare daily and weekly site progress reports.
- Coordinate testing and inspection activities related to civil works.
- Support the Resident Engineer in resolving contractual and technical matters related to civil works.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in engineering consulting or construction supervision firms.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site supervision practices.
- Experience in large-scale construction projects such as commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with international standards and construction specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and technical coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project documentation systems.
