Senior Manager Structural Engineering

Job Purpose

To lead and deliver complex structural engineering projects across residential, mixed-use, and infrastructure developments, ensuring technical excellence, authority compliance, cost efficiency, and effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams. The role also contributes to business development, team leadership, and strategic project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Project Delivery

Lead structural design delivery from concept through IFC for large-scale residential, hospitality, mixed-use, and infrastructure projects.

Oversee structural systems including reinforced concrete, post-tensioned slabs, foundations, substructures, and superstructures.

Ensure compliance with local and international codes, authority requirements, and project specifications.

Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, BIM models, and technical reports.

Conduct and oversee value engineering studies to optimize cost without compromising safety or performance.

Leadership & Team Management

Manage and mentor structural engineers, BIM teams, and technical staff across multiple projects.

Plan resources, allocate workloads, and ensure efficient utilization of engineering and BIM teams.

Provide technical guidance and quality assurance across projects.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

Coordinate with architectural, MEP, geotechnical, and infrastructure teams.

Liaise with clients, developers, contractors, and authorities.

Lead and attend technical workshops, progress meetings, and design reviews.

Review & Certification

Lead independent design reviews and certification for complex developments.

Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and RFIs.

Ensure structural integrity, constructability, and risk mitigation.

Business & Commercial Support

Support tendering, proposals, and bids, including technical inputs and fee estimates.

Contribute to client relationship management and business growth initiatives.

Qualifications & Certifications

Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering.

Master's Degree in Engineering Leadership or equivalent (preferred).

Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent international chartership.

PMP certification (advantage).

Licensed by relevant local authorities (Dubai / Abu Dhabi).

Experience

17+ years of experience in structural engineering design and delivery.

Proven experience leading large multidisciplinary teams.

Strong exposure to UAE , GCC and international projects.

Experience in major landmark and mega-scale developments.

Technical Skills

Structural analysis and design software.

Post-tensioned concrete systems.

BIM coordination (Revit, AutoCAD).

High-rise and complex structure analysis (wind & seismic).

Authority approval processes and compliance.
