Key Relationships
- Internal: AH Finance and Accounts and its subsidiaries
- External: Audit Form, General Tax Authority (GTA), Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), Vendors
Accountabilities
- Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company's tax database
- Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
- Make sure that all companies under Artan Holding Management comply with Tax regulations
- Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
- Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work and liaison with external auditors and tax authorities
- Accurately prepare monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation of multiple tax returns (withholding tax, VAT, corporate income) across all
SBU's.
- Timely and accurately prepare monthly With-holding Tax report, timely submission and payment to GTA
- Preparation of bi-weekly all commercial service and construction contracts and timely submission of
contract reporting to GTA
- Working with all stakeholders to obtain and provide withholding tax certificates for amounts withheld
obtain necessary tax credit from the tax authorities
- Preparation of Annual Tax returns and liaison with external Auditors for timely submission of Tax returns
- Co-ordination and follow-up with Tax Authorities for all pending queries/ appeals and minimize company's
Tax liabilities.
- Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutions.
- Keep track of industry trends and changes related to tax.
- Occasionally step in as back-up for peers when required for tasks and reporting.
- Be the point of contact with QFC regarding tax matters (several QFC entities)
- Keep track of all the requirements and tax related matters from QFC.
- Responsible for the timely preparation and submission of all tax returns applicable to several QFC
companies
- Liaising with QFC regarding tax matters whenever needed.
- Ad-Hoc duties such as maintaining legal documents of all the entities and preparing KYC documents,
Account opening, Reporting suspicious transactions and all other bank related communication.
- Ad-Hoc- Weekly vendor payment upload in bank portal for all the subsidies.
- Any other duties / responsibilities as assigned time to time based on business requirements.
- Good Oral and Written communication. (English & Arabic Speaker)
Specialized Training/ Knowledge Required
- Knowledge in Qatar regulatory compliances
- Knowledge of international tax, relevant accounting and audit software / tools (MS office application especially excel)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a Tax Accountant or consultant in Qatar.
