Basic Purpose
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of all tax-related reports, calculations, and filings in full compliance with local laws and regulations. The role supports the Tax Manager in tax reconciliation procedures, inspections, and audits, and contributes to optimizing the company's tax position. It ensures alignment with internal processes and local tax requirements, aiming to reduce tax liabilities, prevent penalties, and support effective business decision-making.
Key Objectives
- Preparation of all tax returns and reports in compliance with local legislation and upload it in tax portal.
- Handle the preparation and coordination of tax audits and inspections, this includes preparing necessary documentation and liaising with tax authorities and external auditors.
- Fulfill the changes in tax laws, ensuring the business remains compliant and adapts quickly.
- Attending different disputes with tax authorities and with both internal and appeal committees.
- Share effectively with the departments concerned in uploading E-invoices on tax portal.
- Assist in developing tax strategies and plans to minimize risks and optimize tax position.
- Coordinate with other departments (legal, HR, finance) and external advisors or auditors to ensure tax compliance and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation in compliance with legal requirements.
- Develop and submit internal tax reports and provisions to management and stakeholders.
- Alignment with budget for both provision and consultation accruals.
Principal Accountabilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns including income, VAT, and corporate taxes upload it in Tax Portal.
- Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission of all tax obligations, including deferred taxes.
- Prepare the relative documentation and justifications of liabilities and potential deviations that support the annual corporate tax returns.
Tax Planning & Risk Management
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and assist in reducing liabilities, penalties, and disputes.
- Periodically review the tax position of legal entities to ensure proper tax attribution.
- Analyze discrepancies and audit findings, developing detailed reports for the internal tax committee.
Audit Support & Dispute Resolution
- Provide accurate documentation and explanations during internal and external tax audits.
- Support the Tax Manager in resolving disputes with government tax bodies.
- Finalize and review tax returns prior to audits to ensure readiness and compliance.
Internal Coordination & Guidance
- Collaborate with other departments to interpret tax laws and apply them correctly in various business contexts.
- Provide guidance to peers and departments on tax obligations and regulations.
- Trace and report potential tax refunds to secure company interests.

Candidate Profile
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (postgraduate studies or tax-related certifications are a plus).
Experience:
Minimum 57 of relevant experience in tax accounting or auditing, preferably in an industrial or multinational environment.
Preferably 5+ years if the role spans multinational corporations or complex tax environments.
Experience with tax audits and inspections is highly valued.
Technical / Functional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of local income tax legislation and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with accounting standards and tax-related audits
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software
- Fluency in English
- Proficiency with ERP systems and tax software SAP is often required
- Experience with e-Tax portals and E- invoice systems is a must.
