We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Interior Designer to join our design consultancy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical development, coordination, and documentation of interior design projects across all design stages, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance. This role requires strong expertise in construction detailing, multidisciplinary coordination, material specifications, and the preparation of comprehensive technical documentation for project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and produce comprehensive technical documentation from Concept Design through Design Development (DD), Tender, IFC, and Construction stages.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed architectural and interior design drawings, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, detailed joinery, custom furniture, and construction details.
- Prepare material, finish, door, ironmongery, FF&E, and specification schedules in accordance with project requirements.
- Ensure all technical documentation complies with project design intent, applicable building codes, authority regulations, accessibility standards, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, MEP, Lighting, and other specialist consultants to ensure fully coordinated design documentation.
- Review design packages for technical accuracy, constructability, coordination, and completeness before submission.
- Resolve technical design challenges and propose practical construction solutions while maintaining the project's aesthetic and functional objectives.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and RFIs, providing technical comments and clarifications during the construction phase when required.
- Participate in internal design reviews, multidisciplinary coordination meetings, and client presentations as required.
- Maintain project documentation, drawing revisions, and quality standards throughout all project stages.
- Support the implementation of company drafting standards, BIM protocols, and quality assurance procedures.
- Stay informed of current industry trends, construction technologies, materials, and BIM developments to continuously improve project delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience as a Technical Interior Designer within a reputable Interior Design or Architectural Consultancy.
- Proven experience delivering high-quality technical documentation for commercial, hospitality, residential, workplace, retail, or mixed-use developments.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, interior detailing, joinery detailing, material specifications, and interior finishing systems.
- Proven experience preparing Design Development (DD), Tender, IFC, and Construction documentation.
- Excellent understanding of international building codes, authority requirements, and construction standards.
- Strong experience coordinating with multidisciplinary consultants throughout all project phases.
- Knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max, Enscape, Lumion, or similar visualization software is considered an advantage.
- Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project deadlines.
