About the job

Position Overview

EDECS is seeking a Technical Office Engineer Mechanical to join our growing team. This role plays a vital part in supporting our mechanical engineering operations by ensuring accurate technical documentation, material take-offs, and coordination between engineering, procurement, and site teams. You will contribute directly to the successful planning and execution of major infrastructure and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Drawings & As-Built Preparation

Prepare, review, and modify mechanical shop drawings and as-built drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications and consultant requirements.

Quantity Surveying & Material Take-Off

Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare material requisitions based on approved drawings and BOQs.

Technical Submittals & Approvals

Prepare technical submittals for mechanical materials and equipment and follow up with consultants for timely approvals.

Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with design, procurement, and site execution teams to ensure all technical aspects are aligned and up to date.

Site Support & Issue Resolution

Provide technical support to the site team, resolve discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions, and propose solutions where needed.

Compliance & Standards

Ensure all mechanical systems and documents comply with applicable codes, client standards, and project specifications.

Skills and Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a technical office role, preferably in the construction sector
  • Prior experience with large-scale infrastructure or MEP projects is a plus

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

Engineering Software Proficiency:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and MS Office. Familiarity with Navisworks or BIM software is a Mandatory.
