Key Responsibilities
§ Review approved project layouts, BOQs, specifications, client requirements, and design documents to identify technical requirements, gaps, conflicts, and execution constraints.
§ Develop detailed technical, shop, and production drawings including dimensions, materials, construction details, hardware, finishes, and assembly requirements.
§ Translate approved design concepts into technically feasible and manufacturable furniture solutions while maintaining the intended functionality and design requirements.
§ Evaluate proposed furniture solutions against manufacturing capabilities, materials, hardware, site conditions, and installation requirements.
§ Prepare and/or validate Bills of Materials, material specifications, hardware requirements, and related technical information in coordination with Planning, Master Data, and Production.
§ Specify appropriate materials, accessories, fittings, hardware, finishes, and construction methods based on approved requirements and manufacturing standards.
§ Conduct and/or verify site measurements and actual conditions against approved layouts and drawings before finalizing production information.
§ Coordinate with Interior Design, Projects Sales, Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Installation teams to resolve technical requirements and project dependencies.
§ Prepare technical submittals, shop drawings, samples, material specifications, and other documentation required for client or consultant approval.
§ Respond to technical comments, RFIs, consultant feedback, and client requirements by developing appropriate technical solutions and updating documentation accordingly.
§ Control drawing revisions, approvals, technical changes, and document issuance to ensure all stakeholders work from the latest approved information.
§ Provide technical support to Production during manufacturing by clarifying drawings, resolving technical problems, and reviewing required modifications.
§ Review prototypes, mock-ups, samples, and first-production units against approved technical specifications before full production where required.
§ Support Installation teams in resolving site-related technical issues, dimensional discrepancies, modifications, and execution challenges.
§ Coordinate with Quality teams to define critical technical requirements and resolve recurring defects related to drawings, specifications, materials, or construction details.
§ Identify technically viable alternatives in materials, construction methods, hardware, and detailing that improve manufacturability or cost without compromising approved quality or functionality.
§ Analyze recurring engineering, production, and installation problems and develop permanent corrective technical solutions.
§ Develop and maintain standardized technical details, drawing templates, specifications, libraries, and engineering standards for recurring furniture solutions.
§ Plan and prioritize assigned technical-office workload according to project urgency, production requirements, client commitments, and approved project schedules.
§ Review technical work prepared by junior engineers and provide technical guidance, coaching, and quality checks before document release.
§ Recommend improvements to technical-office processes, engineering standards, tools, and coordination mechanisms based on recurring project and manufacturing issues.
§ Maintain complete and organized technical project records including approved drawings, revisions, specifications, technical approvals, and project correspondence.
Qualifications
§ Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Arts, Interior/Furniture Design,Architecture, or a related technical discipline, depending on MOHM's preferred profile.
§ Experience: 5–7 years of relevant technical-office/engineering experience, preferably within office furniture, furniture manufacturing, joinery, kitchens, fit-out, wood products, or a related project-based manufacturing environment.
§ Technical knowledge should include: Solid Works, AutoCAD, technical/shop drawings, furniture construction and detailing, materials and hardware, manufacturing processes, BOQs and specifications, BOM understanding, site measurements, production coordination, and installation requirements. Knowledge of CNC/manufacturing drawings and ERP/master-data processes would be particularly valuable in a manufacturing environment.
What We Are Looking For
§ Strong technical accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies before they reach production or site execution.
§ A solution-oriented mindset, capable of turning design requirements and technical challenges into practical, manufacturable solutions.
§ Strong ownership and accountability, following technical deliverables through to successful execution rather than limiting responsibility to drawing preparation.
§ The ability to balance design intent, technical feasibility, quality, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
§ Strong planning and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities simultaneously.
§ Effective cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Design, Sales, Production, Planning, Quality, Procurement, and Installation.
§ A proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical risks before they create production delays, rework, or installation problems.
§ Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, particularly when dealing with manufacturing or site-related technical challenges.
§ The confidence and technical maturity to review junior engineers work and provide practical guidance.
§ A continuous-improvement mindset, actively looking for opportunities to standardize details, reduce errors, simplify execution, and improve Technical Office efficiency.
