About the Central Bank of the UAE
The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is the supervisory and regulatory authority of the banking and insurance sector in the United Arab Emirates. CBUAE is responsible for enhancing monetary management, financial stability and protecting consumers through effective supervision of licensed financial institutions, prudent management of reserves, robust financial infrastructure and the adoption of digital technologies.
Role Overview
The Central Bank of the UAE is seeking a Senior Translator to ensure timely and high-quality provision of Arabic and English translation services to all departments, in accordance with approved policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review and update policies, regulations and procedures for translation services, and ensure compliance by all translators
- Design and implement standardised templates to simplify, accelerate and unify translation processes across CBUAE
- Receive translation requests, which may include policies, laws and regulations, management decisions, memos and reports
- Review incoming requests, prioritise tasks, set deadlines, and assign work to translators accordingly
- Monitor translation progress to ensure adherence to timelines; report status updates to relevant departments when necessary
- Supervise translation activities and ensure the quality and accuracy of all translated documents; serve as the focal point for coordinating interpretation services
- Oversee the provision of instant interpretation services during conferences and events as required
- Liaise with reputable external translation service providers when required and manage assigned tasks
- Evaluate customer satisfaction through feedback surveys and service level agreements (SLAs); identify areas for improvement
- Guide and motivate team members; conduct performance evaluations and appraisals to assess productivity, progress, and training needs
- Perform any other duties outside the scope of this role as and when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Translation/Linguistics
- 7+ years of experience in translation with at least a few years of experience in the financial/banking sector
- Excellent Command of both Arabic and English Languages
- Working experience in the UAE with familiarity with relevant regulations
- Proficient knowledge of using technologies to perform the related duties
- Advanced writing and editing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
