About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Vice President of Operations to build and scale the operational backbone of Superchat. This role is responsible for ensuring that everything initiated through Superchat from grocery orders to travel bookings is executed reliably and efficiently. You will work closely with product, engineering, category leaders, and external partners to build systems that support large-scale transaction volume across multiple verticals. This role requires someone who can think strategically while also building operational structures from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Operational Strategy
- Define and execute the overall operations strategy for Superchat as the platform scales across multiple categories including food, groceries, commerce, travel, and services.
- Design operating models that support high transaction volume while maintaining reliability and speed.
- Establish operational metrics and performance standards across the platform.
Fulfillment & Service Execution
- Ensure that all transactions initiated through Superchat are successfully fulfilled.
- Build systems and processes to manage orders, deliveries, bookings, and service execution.
- Identify bottlenecks in fulfillment and continuously improve reliability and efficiency.
Partner & Vendor Operations
- Build and manage operational relationships with merchants, service providers, logistics partners, and fulfillment vendors.
- Ensure partners meet quality, availability, and service expectations.
- Develop scalable onboarding and operational frameworks for partners.
Customer Experience
- Oversee support and issue resolution for transactions executed through the platform.
- Design systems that proactively update users on order status, delivery timelines, and service progress.
- Improve customer satisfaction and reduce friction across the user journey.
Process & Systems
- Design operational workflows that integrate with Superchat's AI-driven product.
- Work with product and engineering teams to automate operational processes wherever possible.
- Implement tools and systems to support operational visibility, reporting, and scalability.
Team Building
- Build and lead the operations organization as Superchat grows.
- Recruit and develop leaders across partner operations, fulfillment, customer experience, and service reliability.
- Create a culture of accountability, speed, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in operations leadership, ideally within marketplaces, technology platforms, logistics, or high-volume consumer services.
- Experience scaling operational systems in a fast-growing environment.
- Strong understanding of marketplace or transaction-based businesses.
- Track record of building and managing large operational teams.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, commercial, and finance teams.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment where systems are built from scratch.
