Summary
Conduct category inspections onsite as per API RP 4G standard and inspect and supervise the quality of all structural and piping components as and when needed and provide Structural, Mechanical, and/or Piping Drafting & Engineering Support to the Engineering Department. Provide technical assistance to clients, suppliers and perform/oversee fabrication, installations, survey and repairs both at subcontractor and client facilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with customers and suppliers to resolve structural and piping component/system issues
Achieve and maintain a sound understanding of structural industry standards for structure manufacturing
Provide list of resources required to perform any site job based on the experience
Accountable to actions in relation to red marking the drawings with any modifications and changes and update this to engineering upon return from each visit.
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with on-site customer representative
Accountable for developing the BOM/list for any replacement materials upon return from site visit
Provide technical support to the DLS and Sales Teams
Provides mentoring / training for all less experienced Service Engineers
Provide accurate layout/assembly drawings from design calculations and/or concept drawings
Provide accurate detailed drawings from layout/assembly drawings,
Check layouts and/or detailed drawings when required to ensure drawing accuracy
Produce Sales drawings when/if required
Assist in all project Engineering activities
Review customer specifications needed to ensure structural product integrity
Support onsite service jobs through conducting API inspections, rig structural surveys, rig repair & installation supervision and inspections at suppliers facility.
Stay current on information contained in Product and Safety Bulletins
Support the company's yearly strategic objectives
Interact with customers and other HMH personnel in a professional manner
Complete all work in compliance with company and customer's policies and procedures for HSSE
Be guided by HMH Visions and Values in all activities
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in an Engineering discipline (Civil/structural or mechanical)
five (5) + experience in structural and/or piping fabrication and repairs
five (5) + years experience working on oil drilling rigs (onshore and offshore)
American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector is a plus.
ASNT Level II or III or CSWIP 3.1 or higher is a plus.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, any 3-D software is a plus.
Ability to read piping one-line and isometric drawings.
Ability to work for long periods and in extreme environmental conditions
Ability to share knowledge with the customers
Ability to perform API RP 4G CAT III & IV inspections
Ability to supervise with complete knowledge Upgrades and Repair work on Mast, Substructure and offshore Derricks
Provides authoritative advice and expertise to diagnose, investigate and solutions to moderately complex problems.
Excellent analytical skills
Competent with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Preferably proficient in written and reading comprehension of English
