About the Role

We are looking for a Service Supervisor to lead and support workshop and field service operations for Volvo Penta products. This role is responsible for supervising technical service activities, driving service quality, improving efficiency, and leading a high-performing service team in line with company standards and manufacturer guidelines.

Job Purpose

To lead service teams in executing repair, installation, commissioning, and technical support activities while ensuring service quality, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Lead, motivate, develop, and train the service team to achieve departmental and business objectives.
  • Maintain high team morale by recognizing performance, talent, and achievements.
  • Introduce motivational initiatives to improve labour efficiency and productivity.
  • Support team members with operational requirements, including CICPA and site access permits.
  • Ensure timely delivery of jobs through effective team coordination and supervision.

Technical & Operational Oversight

  • Lead and support repair, assembly, and service activities for Volvo Penta products (in-house and field service).
  • Provide technical guidance on diagnostics, dismantling, inspection, and reusability of engine components.
  • Oversee preparation of parts lists, costing, quotations, job assembly, and execution.
  • Supervise engine testing, commissioning, and full system testing on site.
  • Ensure proper job closing, WIP inventory control, and documentation.

Service Quality & Customer Interface

  • Respond to technical inquiries from customers, either directly or through subject matter experts.
  • Monitor service quality and adherence to company service standards at all times.
  • Maintain effective communication with customer representatives during service activities.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to overall service quality.

Workshop & Process Control

  • Ensure quality control, operational discipline, and order in workshop and field environments.
  • Monitor adherence to working hours, professional attire, and workplace cleanliness (in-house and on-site).
  • Support cost control initiatives by minimizing repair time and operational inefficiencies.

Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare operational and technical reports as required by the Workshop Manager.
  • Support job tracking, cost control, and productivity monitoring.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Technical Diploma or equivalent qualification in mechanical or automotive engineering (preferred).
  • Strong experience in service operations, engine diagnostics, and repair activities.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising workshop or field service teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Volvo Penta products (minimum 8-10 years).
  • Ability to manage customer-facing technical discussions.
