Role Purpose
The Shift Engineer is responsible for committing to the production engineer training plan to gain a thorough understanding of all production line units. The role supports operating, monitoring, and planning maintenance activities for production units, while ensuring accurate reporting in line with the defined training and operational requirements.

Key Accountabilities
Production Shift Supervision
- Assist in supervising and controlling production and quality processes and parameters on a shift basis.
- Provide recommendations for developing and improving production-related procedures under the supervision of the Production Section Head.
Improvement Efforts
- Participate in product quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to process committee meetings and continuous improvement activities.
- Follow up on raw material trials aimed at improving product quality and productivity.
Production Shift Performance Monitoring
- Assist in monitoring shift performance and troubleshooting operational issues to minimize downtime.
Production Orders Execution
- Support the execution of production orders while ensuring compliance with required product quality and quantity specifications.
Raw Materials Availability
- Assist in ensuring the availability of raw materials in the production hall.
- Prepare and submit raw material requests to the Stores Department as required.
Shift Results & Reporting
- Assist in reviewing and preparing shift production reports and material consumption reports.
Quality Management
- Assist in supervising quality tests conducted by workstation supervisors (Paper Machine, Winder, and Stock Preparation) in line with IMS Standards and the Quality Matrix.
- Support accurate documentation of quality data through Daily Machine Reports, Daily Winder Reports, Shopper Reports, and Consistency Reports.
- Assist in leading shift teams to continuously improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
- Support knowledge transfer related to ERP system implementation.
- Assist in supervising ERP execution related to Stock Preparation, work orders, and raw material transfers from RM Stores to WIP.
- Support production data entry and verification by Machine and Stock Preparation Supervisors.
- Assist in supervising the implementation of ERP Quality Modules for Stock Preparation, Machine, and Winder activities.
- Support reject/accept categorization for mother rolls and proper locator transfer of accepted materials.
- Assist in signing non-conformity reports in case of specification deviations.
Coordination with Other Departments
- Assist in coordinating with Technical, Safety, and Stores Departments to ensure smooth operational support during shifts.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Assist in ensuring a clean and safe working environment in full compliance with occupational health and safety procedures.
- Support the issuance and approval of work permits as required.
Appearance & Professional Image
- Assist in ensuring team members maintain a professional appearance, adhere to uniform standards, and follow personal hygiene practices that reflect positively on the company image.
Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (OHSE)
- Execute all activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Support the identification of function-related OHS hazards and environmental aspects.
- Ensure adequate resources are available to maintain safe operations.

Communication & Key Stakeholders
Internal:
- Daily coordination with the Production Manager, including shift start and end reporting.
External / Cross-functional:
- Regular coordination with Technical, Safety, and Stores Departments to ensure equipment readiness and material availability.
Decision Making
- Provide recommendations to the Production Manager regarding machine efficiency, condition, and operational improvements.
- Assist in troubleshooting production issues and determining appropriate corrective actions to minimize impact on production schedules and equipment functionality.
