Redstone Commodity Search are working with a globally active shipping and energy group seeking a Projects Manager to drive commercial shipping initiatives with a strong focus on mainland China. This is a highly commercial role, centred on securing long-term Time Charter (TC) and Contract of Affreightment (COA) opportunities while working closely with spot desks, senior management, and affiliated trading businesses. The successful candidate will bring a strong Chinese shipping network, excellent negotiation capability, and the ability to operate independently across international markets in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and secure long-term TC and COA opportunities across global shipping markets.
- Lead commercial negotiations with shipowners, brokers, and charterers across Europe and mainland China.
- Leverage an established Chinese shipping network to open new commercial relationships and projects.
- Support the Head of Shipping with S&P opportunity sourcing and evaluation.
- Work closely with internal trading teams and group partners to provide market insight, hire rates, and TC coverage.
Key Qualifications / Experience
- Fluent Mandarin speaker with strong cultural and commercial understanding of the Chinese shipping market.
- Proven experience in projects, chartering, or commercial shipping roles with TC/COA exposure.
- Strong existing network of shipping and projects contacts, particularly in China.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel frequently.
- Resilient, highly organised, and commercially minded with strong stakeholder management skills.
