BAC, a General Contractor in Abu Dhabi, is looking for a highly technical and hands-on Site Automation, Power & ELV Engineer. This is a critical role for an expert who ensures the seamless integration and execution of a building's core technical systems from conception to handover.
Key Mandatory Requirement:
- A non-negotiable requirement for this role is proven, hands-on experience in the COMBINED management of Building Automation (BMS/SCADA), Power Supply (LV/MV), and Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems. You must demonstrate a track record of working with all three aspects throughout the entire project lifecycle;
- At least 5 years of experience in the UAE, working for general contracting or EPC companies.
Position Purpose:
To serve as the on-site technical authority, supervising and coordinating all execution aspects of BMS/SCADA, LV/MV power, and ELV systems. You will be responsible for ensuring all works are implemented efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with approved designs, specifications, and UAE authority regulations.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Technical Supervision & Coordination:
- Review design and shop drawings for technical compliance with project and international standards (IEC, ADDC, NFPA, KNX, BACnet, Modbus).
- Coordinate system integration between BMS/SCADA and other building systems.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers; review and approve material submittals, method statements, and ITPs.
- Site Management & Execution Control:
- Plan and organize daily/weekly activities for subcontractors.
- Supervise the installation of all automation, power, and ELV components.
- Inspect and verify installation quality, conformity to drawings, and adherence to safety standards.
- Verify completed work quantities for subcontractor payments and maintain daily site records.
- Testing, Commissioning & Handover:
- Lead and participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT).
- Supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning of all systems, verifying programming and configuration.
- Oversee final testing and handover of life-safety systems (e.g., Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control) to UAE authorities.
- Ensure the preparation and submission of all as-built documentation and test reports.
- Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting:
- Act as the technical liaison between all project parties (subcontractors, consultants, other disciplines).
- Conduct site meetings and submit detailed progress reports to project management.
- Participate in inspections with UAE authorities (ADDC, Civil Defense) for system approvals.
- Team & Compliance Management:
- Supervise, guide, and mentor subordinate engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with QA/QC and HSE teams to ensure strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Communications from a recognized university.
- Equivalency Certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education (Mandatory).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in the UAE, working for general contracting or EPC companies.
- Proven track record in the design, installation, and commissioning of BMS, SCADA, ELV, and power systems is essential.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of IEC, ADDC, NFPA, DEWA, KNX, BACnet, and Modbus standards.
- Hands-on experience with major automation platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, Tridium).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (Upper-Intermediate or higher); Arabic is a distinct advantage.
