Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities Site Quality Control for Duct & Damper Systems

  • Perform site inspections for HVAC duct installation, especially insulated fire-rated ducts, in line with approved installation method, inspection and test plans (lTPs)
  • Perform site inspections for HVAC duct installation, especially insulated fire-rated ducts, in line with approved installation method, inspection and test plans (lTPs).
  • Verify materials, insulation, sealants, and accessories for compliance with oroject specifications, standards UL, B3, NFPA, ASHRAE, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code) .
  • Ensure proper installation of fire-rated ducts including sealing, cladding, suDporfs, access doors, and fire stopping.
  • Check insulation thickness, joint sealing, and fire rating continuity as per approved method statements.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection requests (IRs), checklists, NCRs, and daily quality reports.
  • Ensure method statements, material approvals, and shop drawings are in place before execution.
  • Maintain as-built documentation and quality records for handing over.
  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, and third-party Inspectors for quality inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality plan. authority approvals, and civil defense requirements.
  • Liaise with site engineers and supervisors to rectify deficiencies and close NCRs.
  • Witness and verify fire Integrity tests, leakage tests, and insulation tests for fire-rated duct systems.
  • Ensure duct pressure testing and functional checks are performed according fo specifications.
  • Ensure safe working practices during duct installation and inspection.
  • Stay updated with the latest codes and standards related to fire-rated ducting and HVAC systems.

Required Skills Ductwork Quality Assurance And Construction Site Coordination

  • Sound understanding of ductwork and damper standards (SMACNA, DW/144, or equivalent) within a construction or building services project environment.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings, specifications, and technical submittals for duct and damper systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of clear reporting and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary site teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to upholding safety, compliance, and workmanship standards in all quality assurance activities.
  • Effective organisational abilities, able to balance multiple priorities and deliver accurate work within demanding project timelines.
  • Problem-solving mindset, proactive in identifying quality defects, investigating root causes, and proposing sustainable solutions.

Qualifications & Experience HVAC Quality Control And Site Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience in HVAC quality control with expertise in fire rated duct Installation
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and quality management systems in MEP or HVAC installations and UAE Fire & Life safety code, NFPA , ASHRAE, SMACNA, , BS/EN Standards
  • Knowledge of insulation systems, duct fabrication, fire stopping and MEP coordination
  • Experience with QA /QC documentation, ITPs, method statements and NCR handling.
