Job Description: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Location: Riyadh, KSA

About the Role

S2 Global is seeking a skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support, implement, and maintain deployments of our CertScan platform. As a key member of our Systems Engineering team, you will design and develop scalable, maintainable, and highly available network architectures that align with business objectives and service-level agreements (SLAs).

This role ensures the stability, reliability, and integrity of our data transmission network infrastructure—enabling seamless service delivery for customers across global regions.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Deployment

  • Plan, design, and deploy LAN, WAN, and wireless networks (routers, switches, firewalls, APs) with redundancy and recovery objectives.
  • Implement regional LAN/WAN deployments including robust failover and high-availability strategies.
  • Ensure the connectivity and performance of all networked systems and appliances.

Operations, Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Analyze network performance, identify issues, and independently execute repairs.
  • Implement, maintain, and optimize monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, SolarWinds).
  • Respond to incidents, lead troubleshooting efforts, and coordinate cross-team resolutions.

Systems Reliability & Automation

  • Automate repetitive tasks such as deployments, scaling, and infrastructure management.
  • Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive improvements.
  • Forecast infrastructure capacity to support expected traffic and load demands.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with development teams to design reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems.
  • Partner with customer IT teams to meet compliance, security, and architectural standards.
  • Interact with vendors and contractors to procure network equipment and services.

Documentation, Governance & Compliance

  • Create and maintain accurate documentation for configurations, processes, and service mappings.
  • Manage network configurations with proper versioning and change control.
  • Maintain network asset inventory through CMDB.
  • Conduct network/security audits and ensure backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Develop and maintain policies for network administration and utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., PCI, SOX).

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in networking and network security (VPNs, enterprise routing, L3–L7 switching).
  • 2+ years in enterprise network design and implementation.
  • 2+ years working with firewall/switch technologies.
  • 1+ year in MPLS or VPLS network design.

Technical Skills

  • Monitoring systems: SolarWinds, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Datadog.
  • Networking: Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet.
  • Virtualization: Hyper‑V, VMware.
  • Systems: Windows Server, SQL Server, Active Directory.
  • Storage: NetApp, EMC, HP Storage, MinIO.
  • Cloud familiarity: AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Programming/scripting in Python, Go, or Java.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
  • CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.

Preferred Certifications

  • ITIL Foundations v3
  • Cisco certifications: CCNA, CCDA, CCDP, CCNP
  • Fortinet or related industry certifications

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work on‑call as required.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to access multiple field locations.
  • Understanding of data privacy laws and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI, SOX).
