Job Description

About noon

We're building an ecosystem of digital products and services that power everyday life across the Middle East—fast, scalable, and deeply customer-centric. Our mission is to deliver to every door every day. We want to redefine what technology can do in this region, and we're looking for an SDE 3 who can help us move even faster.

noon's mission: Every door, every day.

About the Role

We're building something new at noon, a greenfield product with its own identity, stack, and customer base. This isn't an extension of what already exists; it's a fresh start within noon's ecosystem, targeting a different market segment with different problems to solve.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who thrives in early-stage, high-ownership environments. You'll be part of a founding squad, shaping architecture, establishing engineering culture, and shipping features that matter from day one.

What you'll do:

Team noon has some of the fastest, smartest, and hardest-working people we've encountered. With a young, aggressive, and talented team, we're driving major missions forward.

  • Design and build distributed backend services for a high-throughput commerce platform.
  • Architect scalable, fault-tolerant systems across core commerce domains including catalog, cart, checkout, payments, and order management.
  • Drive technical decisions in a collaborative, fast-moving squad where your input shapes the product.
  • Implement observability best practices including logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
  • Own reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency across your services.
  • Mentor engineers and raise the team's technical bar through code reviews and design discussions.

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or Golang in production environments; FastAPI experience is a plus for Python engineers.
  • Proven experience designing high-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and messaging patterns.
  • Strong database skills with MySQL - schema design, query optimization, and managing data at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical skills - debugging, profiling, and performance tuning in production.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with a high degree of ownership.
  • Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across product, design, and engineering.

Why Join

  • Greenfield opportunity - build systems from scratch with the right foundations, not around legacy constraints.
  • Direct ownership - you'll own problems, not tickets.
  • Growth - joining an early-stage team means real leadership opportunities as it scales.
  • Backing - the infrastructure, brand, and resources of noon, applied to a new product.

Who will excel

  • We're looking for people with high standards, who understand that hard work matters.
  • You need to be relentlessly resourceful and operate with a deep bias for action.
  • We need people with the courage to be fiercely original.
  • noon is not for everyone; readiness to adapt, pivot, and learn is essential.
