Mō te tūranga | About the role
As a junior Software Engineer – Enterprise Content Management (Capture & Storage), you'll be responsible for building and supporting secure, resilient document and API services that underpin critical banking processes.
This role focuses on API development using Microsoft .NET technologies, enabling consistent document ingestion, retrieval, and governance across enterprise content platforms. You'll work in a regulated banking environment, ensuring solutions meet requirements for security, privacy, availability, and operational resilience.
Reporting to the Chapter Lead, Capture & Storage, you'll work closely with delivery squads, platform teams, architects, and product owners within the Core Tribe.

In This Role, You Will
Software engineering & API development
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services using Microsoft .NET technologies (e.g. C#, .NET)
- Build and support services for document ingestion, search, retrieval, and lifecycle management
- Apply DevSecOps practices across the software lifecycle, embedding security, quality, and compliance into build and deployment processes
- Ensure services meet non‑functional requirements including performance, scalability, resilience, and recoverability
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation using GitHub Enterprise and associated tooling
Platform & operational support: Provide junior‑level production support, including incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation
Risk, compliance & data protection: Contribute to audit activities, risk assessments, and remediation related to document services
Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, architects, platform teams, and delivery squads across Engineering

Essential
- Experience as a Software Engineer in an enterprise environment
- Experience supporting APIs and integration services using Microsoft .NET
- A solid understanding of service‑based architectures
- A good understanding of DevSecOps practices and tooling, including Microsoft DevOps and GitHub Enterprise
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and ways of working
Desirable
- Experience supporting business‑critical production systems with high availability requirements
- Familiarity with document lifecycle concepts such as retention, archival, and disposal
- Experience in banking or financial services
- Exposure to cloud technologies (e.g. Microsoft Azure and/or AWS)
- Familiarity with automation, monitoring, and observability tooling
