Job Description

Atheer ACT is a Saudi deep-tech startup pioneering last-mile wireless connectivity through mmWave technology. As a Software Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the telecommunications industry, contributing to impactful projects that shape the future of wireless connectivity in Saudi Arabia. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and learn best practices in software development within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement basic software features for internship projects by writing clean, tested code and assisting with debugging
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and QA teams to understand requirements, contribute to design discussions, and translate user needs into implementable tasks
  • Adhere to software development best practices including version control, documentation, and basic CI/CD workflows
  • Participate in code reviews by submitting pull requests and addressing feedback
  • Apply fundamental telecommunications and networking concepts to support project objectives
  • Engage in a learning-focused environment, leveraging mentorship and feedback to grow technical skills

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Interest or prior exposure to backend software development projects (academic, personal, or internship)
  • Exposure to basic CI/CD workflows (such as running builds or tests via a pipeline)
  • Experience participating in code reviews (submitting pull requests and addressing review feedback)
  • Exposure to telecommunications or networking concepts (academic, personal, or internship)
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, and/or QA) on software projects
  • English proficiency
  • Arabic proficiency
  • Able to start in June or later

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience writing code with basic unit or integration tests (academic, personal, or internship)
