Job overview: We are seeking a passionate Design Engineer to join our team in the field of solar energy and sustainable solutions. The engineer will be responsible for developing complete technical designs and engineering packages for solar PV projects (On-Grid, Off-Grid, Hybrid, C&I, Utility Scale). The role ensures accurate system sizing, layout preparation, electrical design, and technical documentation in compliance with international standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1- System Design & Engineering

Prepare preliminary and detailed PV system designs including:

• PV layout (modules arrangement, tilting, shading analysis)
• String configuration and inverter sizing
• DC & AC cable sizing
• SLD (Single Line Diagram) preparation
• Mounting structure selection
• Perform energy simulations using PVSyst and calculate expected yield.
• Conduct shading analysis and site optimization.

2- Technical Studies & Calculations

- Perform electrical calculations:

• Voltage drops
• Short circuit currents
• Cable routing and tray sizing

- Structural checks with support of mechanical/structural team.

- Prepare bill of quantities (BOQ) and material estimation.

3- Technical Documentation

- Prepare all engineering drawings (AutoCAD).

- Develop project technical submittals:

• Datasheets
• Technical reports

- Create as-built drawings after project completion.

4- Procurement & Vendor Support

- Provide technical support to procurement:

• Reviewing equipment datasheets
• Evaluating supplier technical offers
• Recommending optimal components (modules, inverters, structures, batteries)

5- Coordination & Communication

- Coordinate with Project Manager, Construction team, QA/QC, and Procurement.

- Provide technical clarifications to internal teams and clients/consultants.

6- Compliance & Standards

- Ensure designs comply with IEC, NEC, IEEE, local utility regulations, and EPC requirements.

- Follow company engineering procedures and quality guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 47 years experience in Solar PV Design (EPC preferred).
• Proficiency in PVSyst, Sketch UP, and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems and electrical design.
• Good communication & reporting skills.
• Attention to detail
