Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Sous Chef in the Hot Section, based in Damietta. The individual will oversee daily operations within the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation. Key responsibilities include assisting the Executive Chef in menu planning, training and supervising kitchen staff, managing food inventory, enforcing hygiene standards, and maintaining a smooth workflow during peak hours. The role demands creativity, precision, and strong leadership to uphold the culinary excellence Steigenberger is known for.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in culinary skills such as food preparation, menu execution, and detailed plating
- Experience supervising staff and managing kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards with a focus on maintaining a safe, clean workspace
- Ability to manage time effectively and work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment
- Strong understanding of inventory management and procurement processes
- Creative approach to menu development and dedication to delivering exceptional flavors
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel or fine-dining establishment is a plus
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
