Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Spa Therapist role based at a Marriott International property on Al Saadiyat Island. The Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering a range of professional spa treatments and therapies in accordance with brand standards, including massages, body treatments, and facials. Daily tasks include welcoming guests, conducting consultations to understand needs and preferences, recommending appropriate services, and ensuring a safe, hygienic, and relaxing environment. The role also involves maintaining treatment rooms and equipment, managing appointment schedules, promoting spa services and retail products, and coordinating with other hotel departments to support guest satisfaction. Spa Therapists are expected to uphold Marriott's service standards, follow health and safety protocols, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- Professional spa and wellness skills, including training or certification in massage therapy and body or facial treatments, with strong knowledge of spa protocols and hygiene standards.
- Guest service and communication skills, including the ability to listen carefully, explain treatments clearly, and interact with a diverse clientele in a respectful and inclusive manner.
- Organizational and time management abilities to handle appointment scheduling, maintain treatment rooms, and manage multiple guest requests efficiently.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills, with the capacity to work closely with spa colleagues and other hotel departments to support seamless guest experiences.
- Basic sales and product knowledge to recommend appropriate spa services and retail items that align with guest needs and preferences.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repeated physical movements associated with treatments, and follow all health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Prior experience in a hotel, resort, or spa environment is highly beneficial; additional training in aromatherapy, reflexology, or similar therapies is an advantage.
- Relevant vocational qualification or license in spa or massage therapy, and proficiency in English; additional language skills are considered an asset.
