The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is the supervisory and regulatory authority of the banking and insurance sector in the United Arab Emirates. CBUAE is responsible for enhancing monetary management, financial stability and protecting consumers through effective supervision of licensed financial institutions, prudent management of reserves, robust financial infrastructure and the adoption of digital technologies.
CBUAE is currently looking to hire a seasoned and highly motivated professional in Emerging Technology Department. The role holder will support the product design and development, including supporting requirements definition. They will manage the product backlog working with business and technical teams, on the CBUAEs CBDC to support the implementation of the Digital Dirham. The role holder will be responsible for scrum teams. In the role the PO will interact with internal and external stakeholders to support implementation including banks, industry and government entities. The role holder will need prior product experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Support product design, requirements and specification, including definition of user flows.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams, as well as external partners, to coordinate product development, including platform design, wallet functionalities and use cases.
- Manage product backlog, epics, user stories and tasks.
- Manage scrum and development teams.
- Engage internal and external stakeholders, including financial institutions, merchants, acquirers, and other industry participants, and government entities, to drive successful product implementation.
- Support sprint planning, backlog management, sprint reviews, and any other technical tasks.
- Support product workshops, and define business requirements and processes to align with industry best practices.
- Monitor development progress and sprints while coordinating with technical vendors.
- Work with the industry to get feedback on technical design and requirements.
- Document and analyse the requirements for the development and implementation, including identifying potential challenges and opportunities.
- Assist in planning, execution, and management of timelines / milestones.
- Develop recommendations for the design and deployment of CBDC systems based on stakeholder feedback.
- Manage product roadmap and timely delivery of features.
- Work in close partnership with UI/UX designers to develop digital mock-ups, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts for various use cases, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
- Create and maintain collateral documentation, including blueprints, diagrams, and user guides, to facilitate continuous knowledge transfer and support ongoing product development efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant Professional Certifications will be preferred.
- Minimum four years of experience as a Business or technical Analyst, with recent roles as a Product Owner or Scrum Master
- UAE-specific market experience and familiarity of UAE ecosystem (preferred).
- Prior experience of working with scrum teams is preferred.
- Experience working with the industry
- Experience working with sprint plans and managing product backlogs
- Preferably understanding of emerging technologies such as blockchain and digital currencies
- Expertise in agile methodologies , with scrum master capabilities
- Product skills, including expertise in crafting detailed requirements documents, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives and specifications.
- inability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts for non technical stakeholders.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication abilities, fostering trusted and collaborative relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Experience in Tokenization (preferred).
