Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Specialist- GIS to join our organization in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With 8 years of professional geospatial engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, you will lead critical GIS initiatives that drive spatial analysis, data management, and geospatial visualization across our organization. You will architect complex geospatial solutions, mentor junior team members, and deliver strategic insights that inform organizational decision-making.
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level GIS databases and spatial data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, data integrity, and accessibility across organizational systems
- Lead comprehensive spatial analysis and advanced geospatial modeling initiatives to support strategic project objectives and organizational goals
- Create professional cartographic products and maps that effectively communicate complex spatial information to diverse stakeholder audiences
- Oversee collection, processing, and validation of geospatial data from multiple sources, including remote sensing imagery, field surveys, and third-party datasets
- Develop and implement sophisticated GIS workflows and automated processes to enhance operational efficiency and minimize manual data handling
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex project requirements into robust GIS solutions and technical specifications
- Conduct rigorous quality assurance and quality control procedures on geospatial datasets and analytical outputs to maintain organizational standards
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior GIS professionals and end-users on GIS tools, applications, and best practices
- Evaluate and implement emerging GIS technologies, software updates, and industry innovations to maintain competitive advantage
- Document GIS methodologies, processes, and project outcomes to establish organizational knowledge repositories and support continuous improvement
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related geospatial discipline
- Minimum 8 years of professional GIS experience in a technical or analytical capacity within the geospatial engineering field
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent GIS software platforms
- Strong expertise in spatial data analysis and geospatial modeling techniques
- Demonstrated experience with cartography and professional map creation
- Solid knowledge of database management systems and spatial databases
- Experience with remote sensing data and imagery analysis
- Proficiency in data visualization and presentation of geospatial information
- Proven track record managing geospatial projects from conception through delivery
- Strong organizational and project management skill set
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Advanced proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages for GIS automation
- Experience developing web-based GIS applications and services
- Knowledge of 3D GIS modeling and visualization techniques
- Familiarity with machine learning applications in geospatial analysis
- Experience with mobile GIS applications and field data collection tools
- Understanding of geospatial data standards, metadata protocols, and industry best practices
- Background in urban planning, environmental management, infrastructure development, or related engineering disciplines
- Experience with cloud-based GIS platforms and services
