A Specialist Oncosurgeon is responsible for diagnosing and surgically treating patients with cancer. The role involves performing complex oncological surgeries, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high standards of patient care in line with UAE healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and stage cancer patients using appropriate clinical and diagnostic tools
- Perform surgical procedures for cancer treatment (e.g., tumor removal, biopsies, resections)
- Develop individualized treatment plans in coordination with medical oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital and DHA (Dubai Health Authority) standards
- Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary case discussions
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and post-surgical care
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and ethical standards
- Stay updated with advancements in oncology and surgical techniques
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- Master's Degree / Super Specialization in Surgical Oncology (MS / M Ch / DNB or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Specialist Oncosurgeon (post-qualification)
- Expertise in minimally invasive and advanced oncological surgical techniques preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Experience in robotic or laparoscopic oncologic surgery
