What We're Looking For

The Sponsorship Director is charged with managing partner relationships and associated activations for all assigned accounts, and supporting partnership renewals. The Director will also be responsible for departmental workflows, projects, and initiatives to ensure efficiency and identify the best activation plans for the festival.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Together with the Executive Director, develop a clear growth strategy and targets for the Partnerships and Fundraising Team.
  • Excite and delight all GFF stakeholders to ensure a positive experience is had for anyone dealing with GFF Source, grow and secure new long term, sustainable funding opportunities
  • Build and maintain networks to grow GFF's presence in the market.
  • Implement and monitor plans to ensure that quality relationships are built with key stakeholders.
  • Support the Partnerships and Fundraising team to ensure quality communication and clear processes and structures are developed to track and maintain new and existing funding partnerships through our Marketing Team.
  • Ad reports from time to time to ensure strategic milestones are met.
  • Present regular updates to the Finance Department and the Board.
  • Contribute positively to the GFF culture and breathe our values.
  • Create a systematic, process-driven approach to partner outreach and relationship management.
  • Identify and source partnership opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls, emails and client visits
  • Research partners, identify key players and generate interest.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other marketing teammates to align our internal goals with new and existing partner relationships
  • Negotiate and finalize deals in accordance with Festival's contract guidelines and policies
  • Deliver a great experience to our partners when working with our Festival
  • You will represent our brand and be our partners liaison internally.
  • Forecast, measure, and report the results of various projects with partners, including co-created and/or co-branded content promotions, lead sharing, and/or event partnerships
  • Keep a great ongoing relationship with current partners and offer new ways to grow the partnership.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • BA required; MBA strongly preferred;
  • Experience managing a book of commercial business with large organizations, including engagement with C-level partners;
  • Superior project management skills, including organization and detail orientation and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks efficiently;
  • High resourcefulness with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment;
  • Excellent ability to manage relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization;
  • Google Suite (presentation, spreadsheet) proficiency required;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication;
  • Experience (direct or indirect) with the fundraising cycle
  • Top-tier veteran founding team & investors;
  • Good charisma and communication skills;
  • Freedom to set your own goals and strategy;
  • High-impact role, with opportunity to grow based on performance;
  • Excited about early-stage opportunities;
  • 8+ years of business development, consulting or other related experience.
