Job Summary

GMG is seeking a dynamic and sports-passionate Sports Marketing Executive to support the Nike wholesale business across key sports categories, primarily Football and Running. This role is responsible for managing athlete partnerships, coordinating campaign execution, and strengthening brand presence through strategic sports marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in athlete or influencer management, strong communication skills, and the ability to execute marketing programs that enhance brand authenticity and visibility. A deep passion for sports, particularly football, and strong understanding of sports culture are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities

Athlete & Influencer Management

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with Nike athletes, ambassadors, and influencers across Football, Running, Training, and Sportswear.
  • Handle end-to-end athlete contract processes, including compliance, renewals, store credit allocations, and annual compensation execution.
  • Identify and sign top athletes aligned with Nike's global strategy and marketplace needs.
  • Ensure timely product servicing for athletesseasonal assortments, high-heat launches, and performance-relevant products.

Campaign & Content Execution

  • Support athlete-driven content creation for social media, storytelling, and campaign participation.
  • Coordinate athlete involvement in brand initiatives, events, and seasonal activations.
  • Maintain strong alignment with Global/GEO Sports Marketing strategies and apply them across regional activities.

Sports Marketing Operations & Budget Management

  • Oversee seasonal SM athlete orders, forecasting, and distribution of product allocations.
  • Monitor key sporting events, grassroots opportunities, and emerging market trends to identify potential partnerships.
  • Manage the sports marketing budget as per annual plans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments.
  • Track competitor activities and provide market insights to inform internal strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Brand, Communications, and External Agencies to drive seamless execution of sports marketing initiatives.
  • Play an active role in planning for brand campaigns, major events, and Nike asset integration.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between athletes, internal teams, and external partners.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Sports Marketing or Brand Management is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 26 years of experience in Marketing, preferably in Sports Marketing, athlete/influencer management, PR, or event marketing.
  • Experience working with football clubs, marketing agencies, or social media campaigns is an advantage.
  • GCC experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with athletes and partners.
  • Experience handling athlete or influencer contracts and basic commercial negotiations.
  • Advanced Excel skills (mandatory).
  • Strong presentation and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Understanding of social media platforms for content and campaign management.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for sportsFootball is strongly preferred.
  • Fluent English is mandatory; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
