Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Oversight & Financial Close

  • Oversee and review accounting entries related to expenses, inventory, receivables, payables, and accruals to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation and review of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure timely resolution of discrepancies and complex accounting issues.

Cash & Inventory Governance

  • Lead periodic physical verification of cash and inventory in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Review reconciliation statements, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strengthen controls related to cash handling and inventory management.

Compliance, Controls & Audit Support

  • Ensure accounting practices are fully aligned with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a primary point of contact during internal and external audits, preparing audit schedules, explanations, and supporting documents.
  • Identify control gaps and proactively recommend enhancements to improve compliance and risk management.

Reporting, Analysis & Business Support

  • Prepare and review financial reports for management, providing clear insights and variance analysis.
  • Analyze financial trends, cost drivers, and operational impacts, and propose efficiency and cost-optimization initiatives.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or ACCA certification preferred.
  • 57 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in eCommerce, retail, or a fast-paced industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and local tax regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
