Responsibilities
- Craft a comprehensive smart city platform architecture, considering various interconnected systems, data flows, and integration points between different smart city applications.
- Evaluate and choose appropriate technologies (sensors, IoT platforms, data analytics tools, cloud services) based on specific smart city use cases and requirements.
- Evaluate and select technologies to build scalable, secure, and interoperable platforms
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify critical smart city use cases like traffic optimization, energy consumption monitoring, public safety alerts, and design tailored solutions.
- Coordinate with all existing system vendors to assess and document the current systems integration capabilities and availability
- Develop data management frameworks to collect, store, analyze, and visualize large volumes of real-time data from various sensors and sources.
- Ensure seamless integration of different smart city components and applications, including legacy systems, into a unified platform.
- Design robust security measures to protect sensitive data within the smart city infrastructure and comply with privacy regulations.
- Prepare solution architecture documents, interface designs, data flow diagrams, and security plans.
- Work closely with stakeholders, vendors, and engineering teams to translate business needs into system architecture.
- Oversee the integration of different smart city systems, including but not limited to Access control, BMS, traffic management, energy grids, public lighting, and environmental monitoring.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including city officials, project managers, and end-users.
- Provide technical input on project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for smart city implementations.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of IoT technologies, data analytics, big data platforms, AI/ML principles.
- Familiarity with smart cities concepts, city challenges, and potential applications of smart city technologies.
- Ability to design complex distributed systems, considering integration, scalability, performance, and resilience.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively present technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills to identify challenges, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose innovative solutions.
- Proven experience as a solution architect in the IoT & smart cities domain with 10+ years of experience.
