Responsibilities:

  • Provides authoritative expertise in claims management, guiding the resolution of the most complex and high-value cases. Shapes claims strategies across major projects, advises leadership on contractual risks, and contributes to dispute resolution at the highest level to protect the organisation's commercial interests.
  • Manage and advise on large-scale and highly complex claims involving significant contractual or financial impact.
  • Provide authoritative analysis of delay, disruption, and quantum issues using advanced methodologies.
  • Advise senior leadership and project directors on claims risks, strategies, and resolution pathways.
  • Represent the organisation in negotiations, mediation, or arbitration proceedings.
  • Review and validate claims prepared at project and regional levels, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Lead the development and continual improvement of claims management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Provide expert evidence and professional opinions when required in dispute proceedings.
  • Monitor claims trends across regions and propose strategic improvements.
  • Prepare and deliver high-level reports and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Contribute to strengthening relationships with clients, legal entities, and external advisory through professional engagement.
  • Support organisational capability building by mentoring advanced professionals and contributing to internal training.
  • Acts with integrity, impartiality, and professionalism, applying expert judgement to resolve complex claims while maintaining trust and credibility with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related discipline (Master's or professional certification required, e.g., CIArb, RICS).
  • 10+ years of specialized experience in claims management, contract administration, and dispute resolution.
  • Proficiency in claims analysis tools and planning software (e.g., Primavera P6).
  • Expert knowledge of FIDIC and other international forms of contract.
  • Demonstrated success in handling high-value and complex claims.
  • Strong negotiation, advisory, and leadership skills, with recognised authority in claims.
