Job Description

Lead and advise the Group and subsidiaries on long-term M&A strategies ensuring the 7X investment portfolio is performing optimally by focusing on value creation and consistent refinement of M&A processes through effective sourcing and execution of M&A opportunities that drives financial performance and propelling growth of 7X.

Strategy, Policy and Procedures

  • Establish and oversee the implementation of M&A strategies for 7X and its subsidiaries in alignment with the Group's strategic objectives.
  • Continuously refine M&A processes, leveraging lessons learned and global best practices to strengthen execution discipline, efficiency, and outcomes.
  • Adhere to the laws and regulations stipulated in the system of 7X policies and administrative regulations.
  • Define key performance indicators and success metrics to measure the effectiveness of M&A initiatives.
  • Deal with sensitive and confidential information related to work with discretion to protect the interests of 7X.

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Lead the overall M&A process of 7X in close coordination with the Executive Director of Strategy & Investment.
  • Align M&A strategy with the Group's short- and long-term objectives to support diversification and growth.
  • Lead the evaluation and recommendation of M&A opportunities. Originate and manage a robust deal pipeline by engaging directly with targets, advisors, and banks to secure opportunities aligned with Group objectives.
  • Develop valuations, synergy models, and transaction structures to assess deal viability, capture value creation opportunities and ensure optimal terms.
  • Lead negotiations with counterparties and stakeholders, securing Board, shareholder, and regulatory approvals in line with governance requirements.
  • Design and oversee post-deal integration programs, including Day-1 readiness, 100-day plans, and synergy capture frameworks to maximize deal value and accelerate performance realization.
  • Drive continuous improvement in M&A execution and processes.
  • Develop an active partnership log for 7X's strategic partnership by nature of partnership, maturity, stage, activity, progress, milestones etc.
  • Perform industry research and competitive analyses of investment partnerships, potential mergers and acquisitions and new investment opportunities.
  • Monitor and ensure data integrity and robust financial analysis of M&A transactions.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Lead the comprehensive due diligence process across commercial, financial, legal, tax, and operational dimensions to ensure disciplined evaluation and risk mitigation.
  • Identify and manage key risks associated with M&A transactions, including financial, legal, and regulatory considerations.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory inquiries, audits and investigations effectively.

Talent Management

  • Support team motivation and performance by through regular employee communication, training, and access to the right tools.
  • Support succession planning by identifying and developing potential talent.

Synergies with the Stakeholders

  • Work with leadership and finance teams to streamline and influence the M&A process using appropriate systems and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Group Finance to assess funding requirements for transactions.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with leading investment advisors for market insights and deal flow.
  • Monitor financial performance, portfolio positions, current events, and organizational changes and provide analytical reviews to stakeholders as required.
  • Provide internal advice on M&A-related matters and support cross-functional discussions where relevant. Represent 7x in forums, conferences, and networking events to enhance visibility, reputation, and business development opportunities.

Report

  • Provide periodic reports and presentations on ongoing and planned M&A initiatives to senior management and committees.
  • Keep the leadership informed on current trends, developments and actions of relevant players (corporate & governmental), outlining potential ventures/M&A opportunities.
  • Lead the preparation of reports and informative materials for the Committee's meetings on the M&A perspective and present findings and strategic recommendations.

Other Tasks

  • Undertake additional responsibilities related to M&A activities as assigned by senior leadership.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics or Business Administration with CFA, CISI or equivalent certification.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, or strategy, with strong deal execution and stakeholder management experience.
