Job Purpose
The Senior General Ledger Accountant serves as the primary custodian of financial integrity, ensuring the precision of the general ledger through rigorous oversight of the end-to-end accounting cycle. This role is strategically vital for translating complex operational data into compliant financial statements while driving the digital evolution of the finance function.

Financial Governance & Reporting Excellence
- Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close cycles, ensuring all general ledger activities are completed with absolute accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Analyze comprehensive financial statements and variance reports to provide leadership with actionable insights regarding operational performance and fiscal health.
- Execute high-level reviews of journal entries, complex accruals, and technical provisions to guarantee the completeness of the company's financial records.
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards and internal accounting policies through consistent monitoring and application of regulatory updates.
Process Optimization & Technical Leadership
- Spearhead the enhancement of internal controls and accounting workflows to safeguard company assets and increase departmental efficiency.
- Drive process automation initiatives and ERP system implementations, specifically focusing on the integration of manufacturing modules with the general ledger.
- Mentor and review the technical output of junior GL accountants, fostering a high-performance culture rooted in accuracy and continuous professional development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Audit Management
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll teams to ensure the proper accounting treatment of intercompany transactions and operational expenses.
- Manage the preparation of complex balance sheet reconciliations, taking the lead in resolving high-priority discrepancies across global accounts.
- Lead the facilitation of internal and external audits by preparing comprehensive documentation and serving as the primary technical liaison for audit queries.
- Partner with the Treasury department to manage payment requests for statutory dues, ensuring liquidity optimization and timely settlement of obligations.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Arabic.
Knowledge
- Strong mastery of IFRS and/or GAAP frameworks and global financial reporting standards.
- Advanced data management skills (Power Query, macros, or SQL) for handling large-scale manufacturing datasets.
- High proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, with a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing or heavy industry setting is preferred.
